WHO WE ARE.
Founded in 2024 by Kathy and Gary Stommel, Igniting Purpose is a Therapeutic Group Intensive Center close to Nashville, Tennessee. After years of experience in working with people individually and guiding group intensives, Kathy is now bringing her expertise to her own originally designed programs. She has created a place for transformation-where people can overcome trauma, find freedom from fear, and gain the resources to live with purpose, joy, and fulfillment.

Being in a small group of people, most of whom I didn’t know, created this space that was incredibly honest and healing. Walls came down. Hearts opened. And what I thought might feel intimidating actually became the most beautiful source of connection I’ve ever encountered.Through the teaching, therapy, and shared vulnerability, I saw God move in real time—in others and in me.
There was laughter, tears, breakthrough, and truth spoken over each one of us.

For the first time, I could see where I had been reacting instead of responding… surviving instead of leading my own heart.
And now, instead of shame or frustration, I have clarity. I have tools. I have peace.
God used this experience to not only bring healing but to restore authority in my life. I left knowing who I am and how to walk in wisdom, grace, and emotional strength.
The group setting gave me something that I never dreamed possible and that wouldn’t have been as powerful any other way. The psychodrama and the art therapy initially had me highly uncertain because it required trust and transparency, and was outside my comfort zone to a huge degree. But God used those two areas to give me new freedom and bring healing. Psychodrama challenged and enabled us to hear each other without judgment and get free of layers of garbage that didn’t belong to us. Kathy guided, taught, and encouraged with rare insight and wisdom. Discovering God’s genuine Father’s heart for me transformed my whole relationship with God and with myself, which has transferred into my relationships with everyone else.
